ਗੈਂਡਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਹੋਮ ਜਗ ਕੀਏ ਦੇਵਤਿਆ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੇ ॥
Gainaddaa Maar Hom Jag Keeeae Dhaevathiaa Kee Baanae ||
It was the habit of the gods to kill the rhinoceros, and make a feast of the burnt offering.
ਦੇਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਆਦਤ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗੈਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਨ ਕਰਨ ਮਗਰੋ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਸਦਾ-ਵਰਤ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਮਾਸੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਨਕੁ ਪਕੜਹਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਾਣਸ ਖਾਣੇ ॥
Maas Shhodd Bais Nak Pakarrehi Raathee Maanas Khaanae ||
Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night.
ਜੋ ਮਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜਦ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਬਹਿਣਾ ਪਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਨਿਗਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
