ਬਿਰਹਾ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਤੂ ਸੁਲਤਾਨੁ ॥
Birehaa Birehaa Aakheeai Birehaa Thoo Sulathaan ||
Many talk of the pain and suffering of separation; O pain, you are the ruler of all.
ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਕਲੀਫਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ।

ਫਰੀਦਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਨ ਊਪਜੈ ਸੋ ਤਨੁ ਜਾਣੁ ਮਸਾਨੁ ॥੩੬॥
Fareedhaa Jith Than Birahu N Oopajai So Than Jaan Masaan ||36||
Fareed, that body, within which love of the Lord does not well up - look upon that body as a cremation ground. ||36||
ਫਰੀਦ ਜਿਸ ਦੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਾਨ ਭੂਮੀ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ।
